Is that a cheesy title? No, it's definitely ripe and ready to go. It's time to travel (literally travel) to a place like no other. A place that before a month ago, I could never even fathom existed. I can only start off by saying thanks to the professors for helping create this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Your insight helped shape a truly great program that intrigued us all. I don't know about you, but I love children's books, so I think I'll use them as inspiration for the following story.
A Whole New World
This story begins with a boy who wanted to see the ocean blue. So he saved and saved to make his dreams come true.
With the help of his parents and friends alike, he was able to soar and soar, much higher than kites.
He stepped off the plane, and to his surprise, he met the gazes of the group, all with awestruck eyes.
What a place! What a sight! They ran out of the airport filled with delight.
Athens was wonderful, and so was the beach! The boy wanted to see how far into the ocean he could reach.
It was his first time to see it, and with a heart full of glee, he dipped his toes into the cold water ever so slightly.
What a wonderful feeling! Oh, how happy was he. "How lucky am I," he thought, "to be in the sea."
The group became weary, they began to yawn, but up next on their list to see was the Parthenon.
It was spectacular! The Parthenon was immense! The marble it was made of was incredibly intense.
They traveled to London. The boy became tense. He did not enjoy plane rides with turbulence.
In London, where there were Whovians and Potterheads galore, the boy felt right at home. Walking through the streets never seemed like a chore.
Mondrian's and Picasso's art was unbelievable. The value of the Tate Museum of Modern Art seemed inconceivable.
Sadly, though, the boy and the group had to leave. They had accomplished all they set out to achieve.
The plane ride home was boring, but the boy knew his loved ones were waiting. His heart was soaring.
He was back in America, safe and sound, but the boy will always remember his trip over on European ground.
